Bird Cage CoverBird feeders are great outdoor décor options for businesses and homes alike. Many people also enjoy seeing them in other institutions, such as churches or parks. Schools are another location where they can provide many services.

The most basic use for these items is to add some enchantment to the outdoor atmosphere. The sight of a bird is interesting for people of all ages. Of course, it is a particular draw for younger children. In addition to the beauty which birds provide, they also often chirp and sing, creating even more ambience for an outdoor location.

In addition to the appearance of birds, the actual look of the feeder can also offer visual appeal. Many have ornate appearances resembling houses. Even within just this example there is a lot of variety. For instance, a buyer can choose a stout and frilly English cottage. Another person may prefer a more smooth and elegant Japanese temple form.

Many other sculptural possibilities are available. Some may be highly representational, while other bird feeders may have more modern abstract aesthetics. It is also worth noting that there are numerous options for the attachment of these items. Many are simply designed to be hung from trees or other locations. Another possibility is to have them mounted to a wall or fence. Finally, another option is to have one which stakes into the ground.

Bird feeders will attract different types of birds depending upon a few factors. Of course, the region around which a person lives can limit the variety he or she will see. Climate also has the same influence. Other factors include the build of the feeder. Some are simply not meant to support larger birds.

The different seeds used will also affect what type of avian species show up. The most common styles will supply seeds or bird food. Examples of this include thistle, canola seed, millet, sunflower, and safflower. Some people will even include such things as mealworms.

The most common types of bird feeders are those which hold seeds. They come in many different structural forms. The most popular include tubes, trays, and hoppers. When it comes to what seeds are the most commonly used, it is usually either sunflower or mixed seeds. The birds that are regularly drawn to these include finches, cardinals, and chickadees.

When it comes to bird enthusiasts, a very popular choice for supplying bird feeders are black oil sunflower seeds. There are a few reasons for this. The first is that they easily fit within most feeder types. Another is that are thin and easy to crack as a result. Finally, the kernel of these sunflowers are larger than striped or white seed varieties.

Some structures are designed specifically to operate as finch feeders. These have particularly small openings. They are great for use with the Guizotia abyssinica type of thistle seed. Smaller finches really favor this seed type, also known as niger or nyjer. A particular fan of the nyjer is the goldfinch.

Other feeders may be especially designed for hummingbirds. As opposed to dispensing seeds, they store a special sugary liquid. Often, it is colored red to attract more hummingbirds.
