Bird Cage CoverThere are many popular types of pet birds, but Lovebirds have really stood out as being excellent companion birds. Many people love how they will cuddle with their favorite people, even preening them. There are many beautiful variations on the Lovebird’s colors, so there are multiple options available.

The Lovebird gets its name from the monogamous relationships the mating pairs have. Pairs will spend hours sitting side by side, and mate for life. This affection is transferred to their owners when in captivity. If raised from a young age, they can learn to mimic some sounds, and will become very attached to their owner.

There are some drawbacks to having Lovebirds as pets. These little birds have a very loud voice, and tend to enjoy vocalizing in the early morning. Also, they have a tendency to be aggressive to other animals, especially other birds. These things should not scare you away from the idea of getting a Lovebird, they should just be taken into account during the decision making process.
